Rockets deal the most damage when it's a direct hit to the fleshpound / any other zed, rather than relying on its AoE blast damage. RPG rockets and C4s combo (and a nuke if you're lucky to get zed time while fighting them as a demo). Sadly, Microwave gun is the most effective firebug weapon on scrakes, drains his life fast enough for him to rage rather quickly and deliver those few blows you talked about, which is where the zerker's nade comes into play (If you have a zerker on your team, having him aggro the scrake would be safer for you as a firebug to deal with it quickly and safely).Īs for the fleshpound, fastest way is to have everyone focus fire on it (except for the firebug(s) whom should provide cover for their teammates while they deal with the fleshpounds, firebugs deal insignificant damage to them as they have a rather high fire resistance). You also should let the zerker use a shock nade on him, disables his rage and makes him easier to deal with. It's very effective that way and sends him flying, which buys your team some time. Try to launch a dud rocket with your rpg into the scrake's face (Can be done when you're close enough for the rocket not to explode, but delivers powerful blunt damage).
